NEWTON'S
PLAYGROUND

Hello Everyone! My name is Matt and welcome to Newton's Playground!

Newton's Playground is an ongoing passion project made by a physics teacher (me) for other physics teachers and students. My goal is to use all my experience to make THE premiere resource for physics education that I've always wanted to see for my own teaching. Here you'll see simulators for virtual labs, practice generators, conceptual training tools, a full suite of tailor made physics teacher tools, and so many more ready-to-go resources that give you everything you need to run your own successful physics class of any level.

Please note: As I said, this is an ongoing passion project, I'm a physics teacher, not a web developer.  I'm currently using AI tools to help me build this site, but all physics content, lessons, and teaching materials are, or will be, made by me, a real human physics teacher.  If you see things that are obviously AI generated on this site, that simply just means I haven't gotten to update that section yet.  Till then I ask that you please excuse some of the placeholder slop.

Interactive Practice Resources

Interact with simulations that bring Newtonian mechanics and other core topics to life. Use them to build intuition before you dive into problem sets.

Generate unlimited practice problems by topic and difficulty. Get step-by-step solutions so you can see exactly where you went wrong.

Strengthen your intuition with targeted concept checks, quick questions, and visual explanations that focus on "why" the physics works—not just the math.

Lab Videos and Data

Don't have the time or resources to do the real thing in class? Check out all of our video lab options here for the next best thing.  You'll see videos of the lab setup, a few trials being run, and have access to all the data for your students to analyze.

Teaching Resources

For Students

Don't know where to start? Check out our library of lessons where you can teach yourself everything you need for a complete introductory physics education.  Just remember that physics is a skill, and there's only one way to get better at any skill, practice.  Refine those skills after each lesson by taking advantage of our conceptual training tools, practice problem generators, and review materials for all levels of physics from applied to AP.

For Teachers

Save prep time with ready-to-use experimental setups, lab assignments, worksheets, and quick checks for understanding. Plug them straight into your lessons.
